Mentorship for Pilates students and Instructors

If you are a Pilates student or instructor who wants to deepen your understanding, refine your teaching, or grow your confidence, mentorship can provide the clarity and support you need. Since 2009, I have worked with developing Pilates students and instructors who want a more thoughtful and grounded approach to Pilates education.

I saw first hand while teaching in multiple licensed Pilates teacher training facilities the knowledgeable and brilliant people preparing to teach in the real world who could pass quizzes with ease but their real life teaching skills and readiness for their practical test lacked confidence, clarity and clear communication skills.

I help bridge the gap between knowledge and practical application. My mentorship style is honest, encouraging and supportive. We focus on movement observation, verbal and tactile cuing, layers and progressions moving from pre-Pilates through advanced repertoire, sequencing and intentional flow or program design, anatomy & biomechanics, client communication and connection, how to facilitate private training sessions and the transition from learning exercises to teaching them well and to the people in front of you. This is not about memorizing choreography; it’s about understanding the work and the integration from teacher training to bringing the Pilates method to life for your clients with confidence and ease.

“Mentorship here isn’t linear. We’ll focus on one layer at a time whether it’s cuing, anatomy, or reading a body - while the other concepts develop quietly in the background. You won’t feel equally strong in everything at once. That’s not a gap. That’s how integration actually works.”

Our Process

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Layers & Progressions

We begin with exercise comprehension and demonstration. Experiencing, inner -standing and the integration of the breath, movements, your personal limitations, and the why behind the exercises. This is grounded in the depth of your personal practice and thinking through how to build strength, mobility and skills progressively.

    Teaching Skills

This is a multi-layered approach that includes, verbal & tactile cueing, developing your ability to read bodies, energy and movement patterns. Integrating layers, progressions, injury awareness and variations into sequencing and program design.

You will have confidence that you can teach anyone with a limitation or injury, large groups, small groups, mat classes etc. The world is your oyster. Practice Teaching

The more you teach, the better you get. Creating teaching opportunities is the only way. You can teach me, your friends, family, mock classes, assistant teaching in person, via recorded class submission or live - online and receive constructive feedback on a regular basis. Consistency is crucial and quality of feedback matters.
